Hello Students and Families!
Welcome to fourth grade! I am excited for a great year full of learning and fun activities! First, let me introduce myself. My name is Danielle Leveridge. This is my fifth year as an elementary school teacher, and my third year at Jacob Wismer. My education consists of a bachelor’s degree in American Ethnic Studies and Sociology from Willamette University and a master’s degree in the Art of Teaching from the University of Portland. In the past I have worked as an English Language Teacher in South Korea and as an Autism Therapist and Behavior Interventionist in Portland. I have a passion for science, studying different countries and cultures, and creating interactive learning projects. Outside of school, I’m an avid hiker and camper, and I love to travel! I live in Portland with my husband Scott, and our three-year-old German Shorthair Pointer puppy named Rain. As the year begins, we will spend some time learning the routines of the class and getting to know each other. As we explore new learning topics and review some content from third grade, we will also work at becoming a strong community together. When students feel safe and comfortable in their classrooms, they are better able to take on academic challenges. Parents, please keep the evening of Thursday, September 14 (6:00-7:30) open for Back-to-School Night. There will be a school information session and then at 7:00pm I will explain in greater detail homework, curriculum, and my teaching and behavior management philosophy. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions! You can email me at [email protected]. I also have a classroom website: www.msleveridge.weebly.com. My website has information about my classroom policies and routines, a weekly newsletter, our daily schedule, specials rotations, academic information, and more! I look forward to a wonderful year!
